Bream Record and Pike Record Toppled?

Bream record smashed from unknown water and a good chance the pike record has gone too when scales are checked

BREAM RECORD
The 18lb 15oz bream record, set last May, has been well and truly smashed with an enormous fish of 19lb 10oz.

And the fish has come from an unknown water, a 100 acre midlands gravel pit that holds few carp and receives little, if any, carp feed.

PIKE RECORD
Even fewer details of this one, but a pike weighing between 46lb and 48lb has been landed from a relatively small Northern Ireland water. Scales are being checked and verified, but the fish could be the new British record pike if it beats the current pike record weight of 46lb 13oz from Llandegfedd Reservoir in Wales.

Full details of both fish in tomorrow's (Tuesday, 22nd March 2005) Angling Times.
