Simon Clarke needs little in the way of introduction to anyone who has been involved with catfishing in the UK in recent decades. As a long-standing founder and committee member of the Catfish Conservation Group (CCG) he has helped to promote catfishing to large numbers of anglers as well as being closely involved with helping to advise and educate correct angling methods for the species.
As an author he has helped to compile the CCG Guides to UK Catfish Waters and his solo work ‘Catfish – A Practical Guide’ is an authoritative guide to the species. He has featured in numerous DVD’s and films and as boss of Catfish Pro he has sourced, designed and assembled the most comprehensive range of tackle available to the catfish angler.
Now running the ‘Tackle Up’ tackle shop in Fleet, Hampshire Simon remains just as passionate about the species as ever and with Welchy having first cut his big fish teeth with the Claydon Lake cats back in the mid 1980’s the pair have well over 50 years of catting experience between them!
