If the match goes ahead and I can get off work, I will be there.

It sounds like a bit of fun.

and my p.b list is only moderate compared to some these days on the Trent

Carp 18lb 4oz x 4
barbel 13lb 7oz
chub 6lb 3oz

This year I have landed just under 70 barbel, 3 carp and a shed load of bream from about 8 trips

Cannot wait till I can spend more time on the place, I love it!

All the best and see you soon!

Haven't fished it much this year but the last time was about a month ago (for barbel). Have fished the following areas this year:

Middle river - Clifton Grove, Embankment,Gunthorpe and Shelford, East Bridgeford

Tidal - (lower Collingham)

Didn't get to fish the Upper this year.

Might have a trip or two toward the end of the season but mainly pike/zander fishing now in the Fens.

1st time I fished the Trent was aged 12/13ish with most trips between 1989 and 1999 when I lived in Nottingham.

Come down South and get a proper bend in your rod, if you can get a bite...!

Did I just bite?

Nah...!

Sash ,Truthly I don`t think so ,I feel (rightly or wrongly )that is is down to the high stocking of carp in most waters is upsetting the balance of the silver fish which in turn has a knock on effect for the pike .

Stand back and put tin hat on .

sash never caught zander over 2lbs, but never fished anywhere 2 my knoledge with em in. love 2 catch one though, ive heard they dont fight very hard,is this tru or bull??
Show/hide user stats
les if this was the case, then wouldent the pike start eating juvenile carp, surely a nice hand size mirror contains more protien than roach or skimmer of same size???????

Who`s to say they are not Billy ?
The thing is that a lot of carp (on the lakes that I fish) are brought in say at a mature size or are breed in stewponds so are to big for the pike and if the pike are taking small carp in the lakes ,which they will ,they are not missed.
I do know of big girls in the river ,(20lb plus )a natural water.
