Dave, I have had twist problems, but I did before - when using double or triple maggot at long distance in particular.

I found that with the dispensers, the stotz would all move into the the thin end of the container. I find it difficult to select only one or two at a time.

Beecy,
This months TCF did a 'pole clinic' discussing the use of split-shot, olivettes, styls and Stotz.

The Stotz advantages were:
Large split
Ideal for commercial fishery rigs
Will not ping off the line
Very consistent size

Disadvantages:
Quite large for their size(??!!!)

Matt,

In respect of your twist problems have you tried a micro swivel to join hooklength and main line? I was using one on the Ithcin and had no line twist all day with double and triple maggot despite retrieving at long distance and in the strong flow?

I have tried swivels in the past, but only small size 20 and 22 ones. I intend to try size 11 ones.

I have most problem with spin when using a high speed retrive reel. The pin is much less of a problem - other than being slow.
