hi can anyone out there tell me where i can get decent day ticket fishing on the trent around newark please. i have drove around collingham and kelam looking, but i dont think i am looking in the right areas! it all seems a bit vague as to where the day ticket pegs are! also does anyone know what the fishing is like on the trent run by A1 pits. i have been told that you can park on the bank there. please help. ps: any addresses of decent specimen groups in the newark area as i really want to take my barbel and chub fishing serious!!

I know there are day tickets at ferry farm thrumpton but I dont think it is one of the better areas for barbel but you can park at the back of your peg as long as it isnt to wet,A1 pits stretch is a better prospect and is also a good area for carp so I have been told and you can park at the back of your peg.Im not local though so someone else should know more good luck anyway.

Mark The Trent around Newark is full of barbel and chub from East Stoke downwards (and upwards),why dont you just do your own thing and find your own area its more satisfying. The internet makes it far too easy and i always go and find out myself by doing a search of the area by foot

Mark. there are plenty of Day Ticket stretches around the Newark area, including East Stoke, Nabbs Island, Collingham, A1 Pits and many more. The A1 Pits stretch costs around £5 a day and you can park you car behind your peg.
A good idea is to enter 'Newark Trent' in the 'Search for box' at the top of the page. There are a number of threads relating to fishing around the Newark area
A lot of the Day Ticket areas are very popular especially in the summer. Why not get a season ticket with one of the controlling clubs, this will give you access to waters which are for members only and are less pressurized

Mark...at least you have got a reply or two.. I entered an identical thread on BFW and had a total of zero replies, it was like I was either untouchable or invisible. I only wanted the location of day ticket stretches, and where to get the tickets if possible. As I live in West Yorks, I do not think it is time well spent just mooching around looking for day ticket stretches having driven about 95 miles one way,I never wanted the hot swims pointed out, just the day ticket stretches...I think that the Anglers who use the area are just a bit jealous of an outsider appearing on their "Stretch", and would like to keep it as selective as possible...anyway, there is a bit of info on here, so hopefully those kind souls who have answered will welcome a Yorkie who will only fish the Trent 2 or 3 times a year.

Fiskerton had a good head of chub and barbel, but havent fished there for a few years.I used to get day-tickets,but I dont know whether or not they still do them.
|
 |
dear tony rocker nabbs island is run by newark police i understand
|
 |
Scunthorpe police have it now Colin not Newark, books are about £20.
Day tickets for Fiskerton are £3 a day from the post office in the village, also Rollerston tickets from there. Some good fish if you put a bit of work in.

Well said David Craine.I agree with all you said,:-"they think its their own stretch" As you say its bad enough driving 90 miles to fish. After all you only want to know where the day-ticket venues are.

tony is ladypitt farm still day ticket it was £5 per day

Kingfisher, Lady pitt farm, nabbs island call it what you like is now controlled by Scunthorpe Police they took it over on Jan 1st

Its far too easy to look on the net and expect someone to come up with some easy info on locations. In my area we have a book called the Yorkshire Angling which cost about 3quid and tells you all the areas and day tickets stretches. Unless it was someone travelling distance i would tell them naff all and say do what i had to do a bit of homework and spadework.Reckon some would like a taxi laid on to take them to the swim. I used to have to get a midnight bus to the station then the cattle train to York another bus to Boroughbridge and a long walk to the bank. Anglers today do NOT KNOW THEY ARE BORN

"Anglers today do NOT KNOW THEY ARE BORN"
You are not wrong there John. A bit of a leg up for those not local doesnt hurt though.
