Cakey Oh no its not....the only problem is that the really good stuff is off the Pyramid Stage. The BBC, especially since the sainted JP died, have tended to focus on the populist sh**tes. I mean Neil Diamond on a Sunday tea-time.... it made me watch Songs of Praise as the more radical alternative!! If you got on the Glasto website and saw the quality that was on the other stages you really would wonder if the Beeb had been at a different festival. Amy Wineglass -what was that all about - brilliant band and singers...shame about the main artiste. Stunningly good albums...and brilliant live when she's clean and coherent...and I've seen more meat on a quail And for Stackridge fans everywhere Stackridge return I'm just of to get my steel dustbin lids, my sticks of rhubarb and some compost glue for the trousers

Oddly enough Colin I listened to the Bonzos and the Temperence Seven yesterday whilst finishing off ruining the lives of a large number of the country's 17 year olds. (God, I never thought I'd end up saying this but....the standard of writing, spelling and punctuation this year has been awful...may just be the centres I marked but...) Sorry Bunion - Lemon Jelly
- Mr.Scruff
- Groove Armada
(I've had a club afternoon!)

Yep! Saw Groundhogs as my first "gig" when I came to college in Manchester. Free Trade Hall. Not the best!!! And turned out the same line-up was the Xmas Line-up at Maidstone College of Art when I got home at the end of the first term. Fortunately drink dulled the pain

I saw The Animals (Eric Burdon et al) and The Yardbirds at a local nightclub donkey's years ago. Both were excellent entertainment.

.jpg) Queen Santana (in most forms) Ten Years After But one of the best live shows I've ever seen was Garth Brooks!
|
 |
joe jackson was very good live, saw him backing Queen in Berlin 1981.
|
 |
yeah followed carlos santana for quite a while, an innovative guitarist in his time, still not too bad, I first saw Alvin lee at IOW 1970, that was the first time I`d seen ten years after, they reformed some time later in a band called ten years later. I can also remeber seeing Bill nelson once with be with Be Bop delux, bill was an excellent innivative guitarist, I lkie him with red niose too. Rush are a fantastic band, very zep like in the early days, I loved the archive albums, RUSH, FLY BY NIGHT and Caress of Steel

Monk - Bill Nelson - so you're an Axe Victim too! Ray DC - saw Joe Jackson Band at Manchester Polytechnic(as it was then) - late 70's/early 80 just as first album was out. Audience size was about 50 and 20 of those were me and mates! great show though. Today I've gone a bit cultural - (it is the one disc I would have remaining on my desert island - after deep thought I've decided I'll take Kirsty Young as my luxury - purely on the grounds of no extra cost for the licence payer - it was a close run thing with South Shropshire - actually on second thoughts there are a couple of old flames in the Ludlow area.......)

Something to bang your heads to, AC/DC, Alex Harvey Band. Saw iron maden by miss take, went to a place called the Bandwagon in edgware. Used to be ok for a night out, when we got there it had changed annd was used for bands, so we went in and on they come. A couple of years later they made it big. Saw the jam in the 100 club, one sunday lunchtime, about 80 - 100 people there. 3 mates and i got in early thanks to a cleaner, had a beer with the band before they went on stage, nice guys. good show.
