hello everyone

Ive bin carp fishing now for about 6 years on and off and i have never given spoding a go. So ive bin reading alot off forums on  here about doing it and how to do it (i think im sure on how to do it now lol any tips on anythink would be welcome tho). Anyway down to what spod mix? Ive recently looked through total carp june issue and came across EAZI-SPOD. I was just wondering if anyone has used this before and what do people think of it www.sensascarp.com its on there if anyone would like a look. Most people also say match your hook bait with whats in your spod i belive in this but would you put it in these eazi spods mixs aswell say if it was a boilie. And would anybody add anythink else to these or just go ass they are. They mostly consist of hemp seed and a few over nutty kind of things lol. Thanks for any information anyone has.

look like decent enough mixes, though it probably nothing you couldn't get from a petshop.

It is good stuff, but nothing special to be honest, as frothey says "probably nothing you couldn't get from a petshop." and he is absolutly correct although a trip to the supermarket might be needed as well.

Ryan

Make your own start of with tin of hemp (or fresh if u have it) tin of sweetcorn, pellets, bit of g-bait chopped boilies (matching our hookbait) few whole boilies of different sizes, few different boilies (flavour if for a change of bait) etc etc etc

Oh, and make sure whatever you use is PROPERLY PREPARED. and safe.

Just go to a farm shop and buy Ewe nuts. Exactly the same as CSL pellets and cheap as chips.........probably about £7 for a sack, whereas about £5 for a small bag from a fishing shop.

I would not bother with any specialised fish shop stuff, its a waste of money.....

ewe nuts are not the same as csl to get csl pellets you need MG straghts.

the magic ingredient is called maize gluten

thanks for the comments everyone . What does everyone  put in a spod mix. ive bin told you cant go without sweetcorn and maggots and u need some sort of nuts i like the look of pigeon mix have peole used these ive also bin told put some tuna in to make a cloud what do people think

I use Hemp, Pigeon conditioner, Corn/Maize, Soup mix, Fishmeal and vitalin.

Adding more vitalin if i wont a method mix. You can also liquidise the finnished mix if you want more of a soup to cloud up the water.

tuna doesn't cloud (unless you liquidise it) its the oil that you want from it. when my kids have tuna sandwiches, i drain the oil off and freeze it. same with sweetcorn brine. then just add the block to the mix when you leave home.

check theres no nut ban before adding it - again its the oil that they add that the fish are attracted to. if you can get crushed tigers, all the better.

cheers bryan very helpfull im going to change my question slightly and most people are going to say anythink but what are the main ingredients ? what are the must  haves. Im gavering some sort of pellets but not to keen on cooking stuff like nuts etc.and sweetcorn.           WHAT ELSE ? thanks for input folks
Show/hide user stats
I use anything i have around but main ingredients are hemp and pigeon conditioner. In fact i am quite happy just to use them.

i like pigeon conditoner but u have to soak it for a week dont u mate well thats what i read anyway lol. think i mite just go for hemp some tiger nuts and a few pellets and boilies and maybe bit of sweetcorn what u thnk bryan .    arent tiger nuts band on most lakes tho mate lol
Show/hide user stats
just 1 more question people can u put to much big things in ur mix or dosent it really matter i e loads of pellets tiger nuts cause there quiet big arent they
Show/hide user stats

The larger particles can have a adverse effect if there are not a lot of fish or your only on a short session. Use chopped in the mix and a fake on the hook.

Pigeon conditioner needs less soaking than hemp.

cover teh pigeon conditioner with boiling water, stick in an airtight bucket and leave for a couple of days...

last yr i started messing around with a nut mix mix from poacherbaits.....contains crushed maize, soaked and roasted peanuts, crushed hemp, almonds, brazils, various birdfoods, 3 types of milk protien. Found it work very well mixed with salmon oil a bit of boillie dip, Seasme seed oil, molasses, a couple of kgs of 6mm 'ers.....spod of make stick mix up....

results have been brilliant.

i cant decide theres to many things you can put in it lol do people think it makes a difference on preparing your bait yourself to buying pre made. what do you think bryan mite just go for tiger nuts hemp sweetcorn and few choped boilies and whole and i want sumat to cloud the water maybe some tuna juice or can you think of anythink else.then use a boilie with corn or a tiger nut on the end of the hair
Show/hide user stats

dont use too many whole tiger nuts - half a handfull on the spot is more than enough.

liquidise them if you can. same with the corn.
