Its probably the weight he can't handle Mike.  12 tins is an extra 6Kg on the barrow - he'll probably need 2 trips to his swim if he took any more.

''Dearn sounds a good bet to me, or any other river I dont fish.''

There's no room for any bivvys on the Dearne, Try the Trent.

James, maybe the reason why bites are few and far between is that you and your mates are too busy having a party on the bank and no self respecting barbel will be within a million miles of you and probably any other angler on the stretch wanting to fish quietly.Ditch the bivvy, ditch the beer, travel light, find your fish and then fish for them. How can you think about your fishing if you are getting bevvied?

Each to their though but I'm afraid your approach to fishing is one that has no appeal to me in the slightest.

dear jon .........what are you on about no room on the dearne i'll be there tonight and we'll be bivvied up i'm just wonderin do you know where the dearne actully is???? most the streches i fish have plenty of room . i think their's a place for everyone in this sport we love at least when james goes and doesn't catch he's puttin feed in and making the fish bigger for the rest of us just cast your mind back a few years to when the dearne was just a dumping ground for the pits and other bussines's when even the hardest stickleback couldn't live there. now i can go less than 150 yards from my back door and catch at least 6 different type of fish on any method and the pegs that are dug out near me are done mainly by the bivvi bracade wantin armchair fishing pegs which kid's and old boy's who aren't to clever on ther feet can now fish with ease . there's one such fella near me fly fishes the dearne on said peg's and he's nearly 90 how else could he get down to water edge .so before we start putting people off let us wiegh up pro's and con's

Yes I am quite aware of where the Dearne is, I fish it often, my response was a tongue in cheek reply to Mr two canes' coment.

I edited it before giving away any locations!

See you on the Dearne.

It's just a wind up if you ask me. That horrid English and those awful spelling mistakes. Surely no-one exists who writes like that?

It's probably Ed having a go at the people of South Yorkshire.

You have to be joking, Ron. Have a read through some of the posts on THIS site.

Had a lad from South Yorkshire collecting a book to fish the Wear at 6-00am this morning, fishing cant be that bad down there can it  surely.

P.S. I don't make a habit of giving out club books at that time
