Warren you mention having to get more balsa? You shouldnt really be losing it.

I know mate, i tie it on, only had two pieces with me when i got there and catching almost from the off they dont tend to last long. Normally got plenty with me but was unorganised as usual.

We were actually Zander fishing but i always stick another rod out in the day for the pike on the sardine, had a fish of 19lb 12oz out the Level too, good fish for the drains.

This is going back to 1995 i might add.

chris why do you throw your tails in when you change bait and not at the end of the session after you've finished fishing

laziness I suppose. I usually lob a couple in the margins to see if anything comes along and eats 'em.

Warren why don't use the Fox baits poppers intead of the balsa sticks?

I found the poppers really brillant and you don't really lose any if you tied them properly. The red is an added attraction, provoking pike into attacking, these poppers are however resistant to pike teeth.

Connect them to your trebles using Fox riggin wire or fuse wire.

Because they're three quid for something which costs pence from craft shops..? Balsa has another advantage (ssssh...!), you can pop a few chunks in a bag containing some flavourings and they absorb it if you get the soft, fluffy wood.

Bruv you are such a tackle tart! In all fairness using external bouyancy devices like poppers or poly balls is most likely easier than using balsa internally.Im (and I suspect Chris too) just set in my ways!

Budgie has tackle tart brother shock... Can see the headlines now. (sorry...!)
Show/hide user stats
Budgie,I am no Tackle Tart. I was setting another example of how to suspend a deadbait in the water. You can air inject into the fish,or short piece of foam with some flavouring down the bait throat and so on and on.

Andrew,do you own some Fox Bait Poppers,Yes or No?
Show/hide user stats
Budgie, are you going to lecture me what is right and wrong again about using bait poppers?

Show/hide user stats
Yeah, come on Andrew... They're bright red, resistant to tooth attacks... Sounds like you got a few packets to me..!

By the way I didn't mean to get the Burgesses a feudin' and a fightin'

Chris don't you ever read the fishing magazine? Fishing books? Fishing article about bait poppers?
Show/hide user stats
If you read my post again you will see that I was agreeing with you that poppers are most likely better,The question no though is do you own any pretty Fox ones? if so you are guilty as charged of being a Tackle Tart! You will be wearing realtree next!

Wol,no competition mate I used to wrestle him when we were younger. My specialist submission hold was called "The Bends" He still has nightmares about it now!!!!
