been using these hooks for awhile now.they are very sharp the 10s need the eye closing with pliers .short shanked and easily hidden in the bait.until i find a better one i shall continue to use these hooks for my barbel and chub fishing.in passing i have had 36 fish on the pattern and never had a fall out.the only other hook to come near it is the fang by nash but it is much heavier

Have to agree with you Albert. Also use the Fox series 2 but these are a little heavier than the Raptors.

I know a lot of people rave about these hooks but my experience has been different, of three barbel hooked whilst using these they all fell off after playing them for a short while. I'll never use them again.

Fortunately I've managed to obtain a goodly supply of my favourite (but now unavailable commercially) Ashima C310 from Ebay recently.

On the subject of hooks has any one had problems with Kamasan Animal hooks lately. I ask because I lost two fish, Bream I think, as the hooks opened up significantly. I mentioned this to a friend who popped up to the fishery whilst I was fishing, without mentioning the make, and he said were they Kamasan Animals? It appears he and another friend of his had the same experience. I don't know if it was just a bad batch as I have never experienced any problems with them in the previous 5 or 6 years.

Richard,I haven't used Kamasan Animals but I have had a lot of trouble with Drennan Barbless Carp.I have used these hooks for years and been very happy, but I started getting so many points turn over after just one fish that I have changed allegiance.I tried different packs, even going so far as trying different shops in case I just got a bad batch. No joy!I am now using the Fox series 2 carp match hooks, they are very sharp and stay that way.I had 80 fish on my first trip on them, all on the same hook which was still sharp when I packed up.Can't recommend them enough.

Albert, i agree that the ESP raptors are a good hook and the teflon big ts even better. I used the 10s for a couple of years with small boilies. My only criticism is the hook point which turns over too much for my liking. I have now switched over to what i feel is a better hook in the Korda Hybrid, which i started using this year. No lost fish and no hook points turned over yet!

T6's have very long brittle points which can break off against gravel, stones etc. This is un-noticeable to the naked eye but explains the odd lost fish.

I've just switched back to Super Specialists. Although I have heard good things about the Korda hooks.
