I bought one on my return to fishing about a year ago and have found it to be excellent. However the rod bag is complete and utter rubbish! Seams split on first use.  Wont  stop it catching fish but very disappointing nevertheless.

still very confused about the quiver tip ratings

so what colour is what ??

as theres so many differant answers.which is the right one.

 allso can any body tell me as ive just got my new jw avon quiver system rod. and it seems to have a differant colour handle than in all the pictures shown of it.

as in the pics there cork all the way throw.were as mine is black at the reel seating end.?

It could be that there were problems with the cork at the reel seet end being a bit on the thin side and breaking easily. (The piece which you screw down to tighten the reel). If so then duplon would be an improvement. Great overall rod though.

There does seem to be confusement over the tip ratings. The colour coding is correct.

Red is the lightst, Yellow next, and green the heaviest tip.

R=1.5 Y=2 G= 2.5 or possibly 3.

I don't lose any sleep thinking about  it. (-:

Andy,

I have used both the first and second versions of this rod and love it to bits as a great workhorse. If I might give you one bit of advice, try and source some replacement quiver tips for it now. I was totally unable to find any to buy, and eventually my mate Steve (DB) off the site very kindly sent me some spares that he had.

Many thanks for the tip Deanos, I will try and get some.
