Bryan - can't say fairer than that. Tinca - Thanks - I do need a new brolly (still using the battered one I bought 17 years ago - huess I have got my money's worth!) so worth considering.

Garry, I can personally vouch for England Angling.
I have ordered numerous items (large and small) and found the service top class.
The STi bivvy is far better than the dome types. It can be erected in minutes, heavier yes, that's because it's made from heavy duty material. I have one and am really pleased with it.

I had another look today and it is now going for £129 on England Angling!

Go for the Chub Cyfish instead of the STi mate. They are both manufactured in the same factory. The Cyfish is practically identical, buy with out the air vents, which means you can use it without its winter skin. You can't do that with the STi in case it rains!
I just so happen to have a 2-man version for sale, that includes a winter skin and a, Extended Winter Skin! All for £190.
I bought it from Tim at England Angling and you can see piccies of it on his site.

Hi Malc, A bit more than I need and wanted to pay to be honest although it is a v.good looking bivvy. Good to know about the manufacturing though.

surprised to see no mention of the JRC Continental 2 Man Geodisic Dome. i have recently bought the Mk III after seeing a friends Mk II. one of the first bivvies i have seen with bundles of room inside and will allow most people to actually stand up inside ! if you're in the market for a new bivvy, you could do a lot worse than having a look at it!

Thankks Ray - actually bought a second hand Cocoon Dome which unfortunately had a bit of damage (not disclosed in the advert!) Any ideas on the best way to patch the clear door sections on these types of bivvies? Apart from that small tear it is very good - loads of room and no condensation.

Hi Garry, Never tried it, but found this on the net : www.bivvyman.co.uk/store.
Go to Miscellaneous at the bottom on the left hand side & then at the botom of the next page that opens, there's bivvy repair kit.
As I say, not tried it & don't know if it's what you're looking for, have a look & see.
Or Just type into your search engine : Bivvy repairs & you should get a few options coming up.
All the best Ray

If you can lie it down and its a tear try some clear silicone sealant its flexable and should keep the rain out.
|
 |
You should get that new tf gear 20secs and up its pretty good. cant get it back in bag though!! lol
|
 |
Thanks to all for the advice - I managed to get some heavy duty clear tape and have taped it up temporarily - it keeps the rain out anyway. Will probably try the silicone next as the bivvy repair kit mentioned is only supplied with various green patches.
Garry.
