Check the user reviews section here Barney!

Loads listed, the energiser ones (not listed) are good as well, I got mine for 7 quid from wilkinsons, with batteries and a red bulb!

The gardner one on the FM homepage is good!
I bought a couple of the Petzl Tikka's about 5 years ago, brilliant at about £30 each but my mate got a similar one from Woolworths for £6 but with more LED's so as EC says check out the reviews above.
P.S I don't know the reliability or battery life of my mates!

i think now adays you could get a good one for a tenner ? one thing i would look at though is the straps i got one a few months ago second time out one of the plastic things snaped not so much a problem as ive just put a knot in it but next time i get one ill spend an extra few seconds checking them

get a decent one for battery life or a cheapy if you dont mind chucking batteries in.
the good ones have electronics that pulse the power which saves battery life
so its up to you

One quick suggestion. I have removed the elastic straps from mine and sewn it above the peak on a baseball cap. I find it easier to put on during the panic of a night time run and, because I wear glasses, the peak stops the torch reflecting in my glasses.

nash cyclops great bit of kit combines led bulbs with a normal bulb when needed you can get a good deal on ebay

If you want a three LED one with elastic headband, get a Petzl from Blacks or Milletts. They're just about the brightest LEDs I have ever seen.

Even brighter than the 6 LED Nash head light, but you can get one of those for a song at the moment on Ebay. Just go to the fishing listing and type a search for "NASH CYCLOPS". You should get on for under a tenner, by bidding.

HERE'S ONE.

The Gardner one is good is a one LED model would do you.

Netto from tomorrow morning - 12 LED for £2.99.

Worth getting one for a spare at that cost!

You get what you pay for.

Cheapo normal bulb effort - £3. 2 Bulbs went quicker than the 4 AA's it takes.

Chub 3 LED £12, droppped it once. Never the same again.

Petzl Tikka £25, bounces, drop in the edge of the lake proof (providing a quick recovery is made), very bright with different settings and comes with a red lense filter so you dont destroy your mates night vision.
