Having used nutrabaits Trigger bolies in the summer to a varied degree of success i was pleased to find the 'Trigger Ice' range in my local tackle shop and decided to give them a go for the winter ahead, i armed myself with Trigger ice pellets, pop ups, bait dip and spray and 2kg to keep me going all week. the boilies themselves are a dark brown colour and will lighten when they have been in the water for some time, as the pop ups are the lightened colour they will match perfectly on the lake bed. the only downfall was that the pop ups lost there boyancy after 6hrs in the lake. i was pleased with there result though catching 6 lovely carp which are usually very line shy and hard to tempt.

(p.s the other angler on the lake fishing single pop-ups and normal 'summer' boilies blanked! result for Trigger Ice!!!)

or were you just in the right swim with good bait application and attention to detail?

i think a combination of the two really! but it keeps my confidence high with a good bait!
