I've just bought 3 of these floats.....I hope the experienced on here can give me their opinions....these weren't around when I was a kid

Should I have the leger bomb running so when a fish takes the line passes through the bomb eye and the float goes under ?

Or fixed so the fish takes the bomb with it and causes a lift bite ?

Please advise mates

Cheers

I used one off theesefloats for the first time this week Lee . I used it on a running rig and it worked fine . I was on quite a deep water and was quite impressed with them

I've used these alot in the past (unfortunatly the deep pit I fished has now been filled in )

I fished with the ledger on a short paternoster and found it would show both 'lift bites' and 'sail aways' very well.

I used them in Ireland years ago and I found them to be excellent apart from the times when the float ran back up the line on casting and drag is something you can't counter.  I always used a paternoster because that used to be the recognised way of setting it up but I guess it doesn't make much difference either way.

When fishing with a Polaris can you clip up or would that prevent it sliding up the line?
