Hi Paul,
I've had one of these for a 6 months now and it's pretty similar (a bit lighter in weight and power I think) to the original and the newer 11/13 version (Better IMO)
By the old rule of thumb of the max casting weight is approx 1oz per lb of test curve with best casting weight around 2/3rds of this.
So at 1 1/4lb tc this gives a maximum of 1 1/4oz and ideal of around 3/4oz, although just to break the rule I have used mine with weights up to about 21/2oz with a careful lob rather than full on cast.
I got mine for taking on holiday earlier this year and was quite impressed with it, used it with "Avon" tip and centre pin with 6lb line in the margins of a small water for carp to 8lb, also used the quiver tips, more to try them out than anything else, with small fox method feeders for more carp and a few bream and again the rod performed fine. Not used it on moving water yet but will be giving it a try out for a few short evening sessions for chub when the conditions are right.
For slime monster the rod breaks down into 5 sections which measure 28" and comes with a sturdy zip topped carrying tube of 32". This has 4 divisions around the inside for each rod section with the handle secetion down the middle, no cloth rod bag.
