Hi all,

I am looking for details on the fishing ponds and river Trent at Dunham (by the toll bridge on the A57) near Newark. I have tried the seach function but it didnt come up with any recent posts about the place.

I would like to find out how much it costs for a day ticket? are there many fish to catch there etc. Any info would be great

hi steve, the stretch you are talking about is i think controlled by either barnsley or newark pisc.im not 100% sure on that though as i havnt bin up for about 3 months although was thinking about it at the weekend. If i remember rightly it £4 for a day ticket.usual trent species- bream roach chub and barbel. The bailiff told me that the best place for the barbel is on the river just behind the 2 lakes where the bend is,you also will prob have this part to yourself as you cant get your car down there(one of the reaons i love it)My mates have had quite a few barbel form this part but all i seem to get are the chub.Havnt had anything big but it is normally good fishing.
Hope that helps you mate.anything else just ask. best of luck

If im thinking of the right ponds i think its Scunny who have that bank and only the smallest pond is open to anglers, but im not 100% on that.

Yeh thats it,its barnsley that have the up stream of the bridge and now you mention it i remember him saying something about bigger pond being closed last year.

There's no signs up next to the either of the ponds, I'd just give 'em a go and if a bailiff turns up just pay the scunny DT(£5/day for the river i believe) if it turns out to be there water.

Cheers for the info,

I am off sea fishing at the weekend. I might head that way on my way to the coast and take a look around and find out some more about it. I will let you know what I find out when I get back
