You can use jig heads with them or lead heads (preweighted hooks) look at a few lure shops on the web that might help you

I've tried jelly worms mounted on weighted jig heads without a lot of success.  You'd think that perch would be attracted to them, yet in the waters I fish they aren't.  They are more likely to be taken by pike in my view.  Even then, the worm/jig set up isn't as effective as more traditional lures such as spinners or spoons.

trouble with jelly worms is you're ment to jig them.

which you can't do effectively unless you do it from a boat.

that said if you can get out over the water on a boat or some structure, they don't half work well.

i have a couple of spinners i just thought the jellies looked a good size for perch.

they work well for me on my local canal. Slowish retrieve near the bottom, occasional variations in speed. Don't jerk them too erratically though, seems to put Perch off.

I use Aberdeens for jelly worms.

I take it we are talking about Mann's Jellyworms.

Tom Mann, a very religious pure blooded Sioux native American, was an innovator of the plastic worm. (His trademark is an Indian Head in a war bonnet). I started using these very deadly lures way back in 1972 for largemouth bass. They were made in an Indian reservation by other members of the Sioux tribe. These things are designed to be Texas rigged if you want the worm to be pulled over rocky structure or through weed beds or lily stalks where the big fish lurk.

I've alway thought that the plastic worm in its shorter versions would be a good perch lure. Bass loved them of course.

The only reel to fish a plastic worm Texas style is a small baitcaster. You retrieve with your thumb touching the line as most fish take these lures extremely delicately. Most of the time I used a stiff trigger grip baitcasting rid that would pop the hook through the plastic of the worm and into the fishes jaw.

I am not an expert on Predator fishing but I do enjoy lure fishing immensely...I especially like using soft lures.

As for the heads...these are what I use...They are very, very good!
