Evening all,

Just joined after spending an enjoyable night reading some articles on here....mostly about Dick Walker...

I've just returned to fishing after years away.... my dad recently took me to the Angel of the North commercial lakes and I had a brilliant day....must have caught around 60 fish...mostly Bream, Rudd, Tench, Golden Tench and Carp....it really slapped me back into it !

We used to go to another local pond together when I was a kid, and other places when my dad packed the tackle in the truck when he was a HGV driver.

I'm solely a float angler...which some may find odd and limiting in scope...but it's the only form of fishing I enjoy, and I'm doing it for enjoyment...so sue me

I'm a bit of a traditionalist...I'm not as strictly vintage in my outlook as Chris Yates, but I think the old ways will always be valid and you should use whatever you're comfortable with.

I'm 34 years old with 3 kids, and work for a Nokia/Samsung repair centre

Welcome back to fishing and to FM

Welcome Lee,

You sound a splendid fellow - hope you enjoy both the technical material; and the wide ranging intellectually challenging debates to be found in baitbox. Got to say I share your delight in the float.

There are plenty of folk on this forum who have old ways....but that doesn't normally apply to their angling!!!

May I be the first to politely enquire about the availability of advantageous deals on mobile phones

Welcome again

Poshers

Many thanks guys !

Oh and Poshpaul.....when my feet leave work every thought of mobiles is wiped from my brain to be replaced by hobby thoughts...

But stick to the main manufacturers, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, you have better repair services with them.....and most things can be repaired in qualified warranty repair centres for free...UNLESS it's damaged or liquid damaged...

probably common among anglers that one

Welcome aboard Lee

Ask about the "Brand new joiners only" offer of a discount day out with Bob Roberts and Toni Rocca - great couple of guys, top anglers and really good mates - you'll have a great laugh with them

Lee. Leave before it's too late. Oh, I know they seem like nice chaps, Poshers, Slimy, Morespiders and the rest.

But they're just playing you like a lively dace, and once you slide over the rim of the net, you're sunk.

Notice that they don't mention the one who leads them Granville 'Mahatma' Marsbar. He has some kind of hold over them all, tempting them in with promises of rods and reels. BUT IT'S ALL A LIE. Ask Brother Deanos. He offered Mahatma a swap of a night down Slappers Nightclub with his Auntie Kathleeen followed by deep-fill pies and fumbling, but he never got the rod he was promised, which is more than can be said for Auntie Kathleen.

LEAVE NOW. LEAVE !

Hello Lee

Welcome to FM. Don't listen to the rubbish. There's no wierdos on FM, we're all angling enthusiasts, nothing more. Watch out for Spidey though, he's only rcently been let out of the home.

On avergae, how many poos do you have each day?

I had four today (bit loose at teh hilt recently).

It's the port Matt - it can do that to you till you get used to it

Hi Lee

Ignore Corker he's suffering from Coprophilia, a disgusting fetish for all that emanates from yer bum

He can also catch a few fish .  He and his lordship have recently become very close pals  (casting no aspersions)
