 No longer the NRA,
Look at Environment Agency website and contact them.
Long training programme, you need knowledge of PACE (Police And Criminal Evidence Act) which they give you.
|
 |
I don't believe they have voluntary bailiffs anymore. The training and insurance was too costly.
I was an honorary NRA bailiff but nowadays it's permanent staff only and they are cutting back on them.
Why not spend your spare time doing something productive for the needy ?

 Why are U in need?.
NO I suffer from sever "Depresion" and Agrophobia so thought it was a good way to get me out of the house have been house bound for last 4 years just started getting out with care-workers help. So as I like open spaces but not peaple sorry not good at spelling, thought this may help and I love fishing well you know.
SORRY it`s just that I`m not one of those that will not get a job! worked all of my 44 years till all this happend Just had to say that.

"Agrophobia" - do you mean agoraphobia - fear of open spaces? You say you like open spaces so there's something wrong with your statement unless you mean claustrophobia - a fear of closed in space.
I can understand both situations and particularly your depression if things have got on top of you. However, being a bailiff would bring you into contact with people. Perhaps not a good mix.
Two things I would heartily recommend and I am trying to be serious. One is to go fishing more and take a real interest in nature, what birds and other animals there are and study their behaviour. Think how difficult it is for them struggling to fill their (and their offspring's) bellies every day. It puts your own struggles into perspective and they don't complain.
Secondly, try and find the funny side to your problems and laugh at it. Sounds strange? Not so for if you can put its prominance in your mind further down the list of things you should concern yourself with (ie: so you're not constantly thinking or worrying about it), the less it will bother you. Hence, find humour in it - what would you say if it was someone else?
This might help you, but it sounds as if by taking up the challenge to defeat it, you're halfway there. good luck!

Why not contact your local club and see if they need any bailiff's etc.
I know my local club is always looking for people to help out with bailiffing and working parties.

no he means agrophobia fear of trouble.
|
 |
The "agora" was the market-place, which suggests that crowds in the outdoors are the problem for agoraphobics, not the wide, lonesome wilderness. I like the idea of aggrophobia. I think I'm JUST sub-clinical for both!
|
 |
What I mean is that for 4 year`s I have had fear of people and crowded places I find peace in the local woods and farmers field`s as I am on my own, and no one is near I do not have to kid my self that I am better than I realy am.
But when with famly and mates can`t let them see the real me Only my wife see`s the real me as I was and as am now.
I have my own girls, so yes you can have agoraphobia and still go out if in a safe and controld inviroment to you. that is why there is NHS health & care workers and surport teams that do this 365 days a year trust me been on it for 4 years am slowly getting sorted
As to a fear of trouble! had more than any of you will see I hope in more way`s than one.
so please let`s get back to fishing OK..

Cheeky Monkey I would say go to your local doc for HELP as my wife did for me THAT IS WHY I AM STILL HERE AND NOT SIX FEET UNDER if it had been left to me I would be dead AND SOMETIME`S I STILL DO and yes I should think nice and be happy IF only.
Secondly, try and find the funny side to your problems and laugh at it. Sounds strange? Not so for if you can put its prominance in your mind further down the list of things you should concern yourself with (ie: so you're not constantly thinking or worrying about it), the less it will bother you. Hence, find humour in it
Am sorry if to blunt but when you are sat with a knife wanting to die and two care-workers are trying to talk you out of it were is the humour in it?
All of this is not real "Fm" what is in your "head" is.
I am sorry Cheeky Monkey please don`t take afence put it is not as easy as you may think I can say all of this as I am on my own at this momment wife and girls are up out and I don`t know you or will see you.

 Alan.
I'm also clinically agrophobic.
For others information.
Agrophobia is a fear of panic. Both Agrophobia and Claustrophobia are actually very similar things, the fear is the panic involved. Blurred vision, pins and needles, dizziness, depression, nausia, hyperventilation, PANIC in EVERY sense of the word... the depression comes with it, because you feel so helpless!.. it seems VERY self indulgent, but it is a VERY REAL thing!!!!
Alan will know all about this, as he will have been given the same advice as me, I also had a Mental Health care nurse, she got me outside and made me challenge myself, so that i could, for example, go to the blue pool fish in!.. my first proper outing for over a year ON MY OWN!... I was petrified! (which is why i didn't sleep too much!)
Once you spend a few months thinking about nothing than your own "condition" you really need help in learning how to do the simplist things.
Jeff, you are right, there are thousands of people and animals much worse off than "us", but this thing is so overwhelming that it's impossible to think about them.... all you (I) could think about was when i was going to panic myself to DEATH!...
I'm getting better now!...

Alan, Sorry, didn't realise it was far worse for you than you originally portrayed.
I don't have a problem at all, not now. I got quite depressed about 12-13 years ago and that led to some IBS trouble, but that is the way I dealt with it. Very light-hearted. For me, my troubles were purely financial and studying nature helped me to realise that money means nothing. It's a problem not having any, but in this day and age there's no need to starve so I got over it.
Stick around though Alan, your secrets out now, everyone understands and it can't get any worse.
