Got a new rod today, Nash baitmaster 12ft 3 1/2 test curve.
Tried putting it together and it wouldn't join correctly, about 1/2 inch gap.
Now I can't get the damned thing apart, even with 2 of us trying.

Any ideas guys?

there should be a gap - were you trying to close the gap?

Got it apart, icepack on one half, hot water bottle on the other, one big tug and bingo.
It had been lying near a radiator at my neighbours, probably cooled as I was putting it together.

with all my rods before i put them together i just get a candle rub it on the mail part of the rod,sounds like a porno movie,get your wife or girlfriend to do it,haaaaaaaa.best of luck.

I've heard the best way with carbon rods was to use an ordinary pencil, the graphite is a lubricant.
