O.k To the carpers amongst you i would put this question as i believe that you use pellets the most, i know barbel boys do as well. The question is, which pellet do you use that you get pestered(tongue in cheek)by bream and tench with? Bcause i know that if you are fishing for a 30lb carp and a 5lb bream picks up your bait you're not happy which is understandable. So i'll go for the bream and tench that pester you ,solution solved. Just TELL me which pellet that in your opinion gets most attention from other species as well as carp.

Rik. If you are talking about pellet "hookbaits", I think you might be barking up the wrong tree here mate. The carp lads might well use 3 0r 4 mil pellet in their loose feed, but I don't think you will find that many use pellet on the hook. except on a comercial maybe. Have a read of Mark Wintle's recent articles on fishing comercials, that may help you.
Who knows what the carp lads use on the hook for sure (o

For loose feed use 3-4 mil Hallibut pellets. Better still, especially if you are out of catapult range read This and the following articles.

do you mean as in a 15mm pellet hair rigged? i dont know if the carpers use these for hookbait or which would be best for you! but i think marine halibut pellets hair rigged will catch a variety of fish!

What i mean is ,whatever it is the carpers are putting out there on the bottom in any quantities certain groundbaits or whatever is going out there intended for the carp are getting a lot of attention from the bream and tench.Obviously on a commercial they get use to the carp baits and scoff'em. But not all waters are commercials thank-god! So its the other waters where some nights anglers get pestered as they put it by bream/tench. So what is attracting them?

I think Vitalin dry dog food mixed as ground bait or on the method feeder with Hallibut pellet on a hair rig is a good recipe for Bream and at Morrison's super market it's only 99p for 2.5kg at the moment

Have a look at the various Elips pellets that are available. Barbel Fishing World, Hinders and Teme Severn Baits all do them.
Because of their shape they are easy to glue to onto a hair and this allows them to be left in teh water much longer than your typical drilled Halibut pellet.

To be perfectly honest Rik any particle bait will work. Trout pellets, halibut pellets, maize, hemp, sweetcorn, maple peas, maggots, casters. All the above will catch tench and bream.

i like using expander pellet on the hook because you can add a flavour to the water you use in the pump, dont worry if you dont have a pump you can soak them in hot water in a tub.varying the time of soak will vary the firmness.you can also add a flavour aimed at the species you want to catch.whats more their cheap 2 at 2.50 per kilo which when soaked makes over 3 pints of pellet, thats cheaper than maggots! hope it helps ya rik.

I prefer to use marine halibut pellet or trout pellet i find works well as it is very oily. oh yes i hair rig these.
