As an avid user of pellets of all shapes, sizes and makes over the last few years the one problem I have found with most, except for a very few, was they wouldn't withstand a waggler cast let alone a chuck with a feeder on the river. To my mind there is nothing worse than sitting wondering if you still have a bait on the hook, it destroys your confidence and usual results in your reeling in to have a look.

These new Mistral ones seem to be the bees knees and I know that Jeff feels the same as me about pellets falling off on the cast and I have every confidence that if he says they stop on, they will stop on. They look to be a nice pellet but of course the only way to find out is to try them which brings up the point about who sells them. It took a lot of persuasion from me to get my local tackle shop to order the Skinz pellets in and I don't think he would take kindly to me telling him there are some new ones that might be better, Oh! well he can only ban me can't he.

Go elsewhere if he's like that!

I too have had the same problem. My local tackle shop says he won't have Skinz as he says that anglers might not buy them. This at a time when all are talking about them. I managed to find some when on holiday, and the guy said that they flew off the shelves. I don't know why even when I tell the local guy this he still won't go for them, and incidentally the new Mistrals either.

I have recently returned from a week's holiday in Lincolnshire where the 8mm dusted Mistral Halibut Pellet really scored well for carp bream and tench. My recommendation is that you hair rig them and use a Kamasan B911 (Kamasan Animals are too shiny for this dark bait). Fished over a fishmeal grounbait delivered either by a Method or Cage feeder they are devastating. I would recommend you don't leave them in the water for much longer than half an hour - they do eventually break down.
