Hi

I am looking for a rod to start carp fishing on commercials with, but it also needs to be suitable for barbel fishing and maybe a bit of lighter chub work? I have the option to purchase from my local tackle shop a mint second hand Korum v2 heavy carp feeder rod for £50.

Has anyone got one of these or used one? is it versatile enough as it only comes with 3oz + 4oz tips. If anyone has any other recomendations i am open to suggestions.

Sorry not got the V2, but do have the neoterics in the quiver and twin tip versions. For an extra £40 I'd go for the quiver. Excellent IMO. 1.75lb tip + glow in the dark quiver tips, x3 (sorry can't remeber ratings). I use it for barbel and chub. The twin tip is also great. A 1.75lb & 2.2lb tip which I use for barbel and carp.

Does anybody know if glass fibre composite rods are any good? I have been offered 2 very cheap 11ft 2.5lbs test carp rods but am a bit concerned that they are not carbon fibre. Are my concerns justified?

No Pakalolo ,if they are cheap enough why worry ,they will be a bit heavy compared to carbon but they will be in rod rests a lot of the time ,give them a go.
