Luckily I spoke to the fishery owner as he came round to see to see how everyone was doing and he knows a angler who does repairs professionally and had repaired his own Daiwa tournament pole.
He showed me the repaired section and you had to study the section to see where the repair had been carried out. If it wasnt pointed out you would not have noticed it, the repairer also reckons that the repaired section is now stronger than the other parts of the pole but does not alter balance etc.
However what I decided to do, with the pole only bring 3months old, was to get a new section and also repair the damaged section in case it happens again (fingers crossed).
I had bought the pole from Ted Carter in Preston (cracking shop for gear and help, I have endorsed them on other threads also) and when I ordered the pole section they said that because the broken section was ordered within the first 12 months they would replace the section at cost- which was £118.00 (is a lot of money but it wasnt a cheap pole)
Thanks for your replys and Graham you will be glad to know I still use the rod and line extensively- can't beat waggler and tip fishing!
