Forum Updates - Help Guide

I have just bought a once used version, with an RF15 fish finder, aspecial WS 1000 aerial, solar charger etc.  It should arrive any day now.

I was wondering whether there is anything that needs careful monitoring, never having owned a bait boat before.  Any comments, rude or otherwise would be welcome.

Colin

If you havn't already got one , get a battery tester.

A couple of my mates have them Colin.  The type that plug into the back of the boat and give a digital read out on the state of charge.  It lets you know in minutes (time) how much life is left in the battery.  For instance you could have fifteen minutes of life left in the battery.  Allways handy to know mate.

The solar panel which you already have works a treat also.

And be aware of choppy water.

Although I am no experet on matters concerning bait boats, another handy thing which I see being done is to send a feaure finding lead out in the bait boat.   Watch your visual feature finder screen, and when you have found your spot, drop the feature finding lead.

You can then have a feel around wqith the feature finding lead, and this will give you some indication of what your screen is showing you.

Thanks again Baz.  I saw a battery tester on Ebay for about £14 odd.  It seems to have a "Jack" plug, as well as terminal wires, so I suspect that is what you may have seen.
