Anybody know if you can catch these all year round in the southwest

tend to be a summer fish along with the mackerel

Here in Poland this fish arrives in late April for spawning until end of May or even half June. Thousands of fish in the bay near Gdansk. Later in the year the fish is spread on whole open sea. From time to time they attack the smallish pirks while cod fishing. Even in October. Never had one in winter.
