So the slapper who cant sing, Amy Winehouse has been let off for drugs, again.

How can we expect the kids of today to respect the law, and have some self respect, when you get so called Stars doing as they like, where and when they like and then getting away with it.

Scum comes to mind when i here about these so called roll models. Bang her up for a year, fine her half her fortune. if she offends again take the rest of her fortune and bang her up for 5 years.

Its not just this old howler, the list over the last couple of years is endless.

The money taken from these deadheads could go towards running our prison service.

This raises the broader issue of the dangers of our growing celebrity culture in the U.K.

The public seems obsessed with actors, footballers and others. OK, they can sing or act or play football or whatever, but what qualifies them to be role models in other aspects of life?

I'm afraid the public are to blame though, prompted by the media and marketeers. If we stopped listening to this lot, stopped buying the newspapers where you see little about anything else, they would quietly fade away, and just keep doing what they are good at.

I thought I'd got away from all this in Asia, until I switched BBC World on the other night. Sex in the City came to London. The scenes can only be described as HYSTERICAL.

Get a grip people!

On occasions this can be dangerous. Tom Cruise for example, spouts his Scientology nonsense to his hordes of fans. A relative of mine died recently, he was a member of a similar cult. He denied himself medical treatment because of his belief, that cost him his life. Fair enough, that was his own choice, he wasn't unduly influenced by anyone.  I wonder how many others will suffer the same fate though, having listened to Cruise's irresponsible spoutings?

Undoubtedly she was let off because there was insufficient evidence to prosecute her.  I understand that the reason for her arrest in the first place was a photograph of her with, allegedly, drugs, or drugs parerphanalia.  Unfortunately, that is not proof that she was using or supplying drugs.  Same thing with Kate Moss last year.

Letting her off for lack of evidence is preferrable to waisting thousands of pounds of tax payers money, dragging the thing through the Court, when her expensive lawyer will get her off, and to boot, the tax payer will probably be ordered to pay her costs as well.

I'm no defender of the Crown Prosecution Service. I think they are pretty useless most of the time, but on this occassion, I think they called it right.

What p****s me off is people like Paul McCartney. He and other celebs are always spouting off about the starving millions around the world and appear at a few charity gigs like Live Aid asking the rest of us to fork out our hard earned money while each of them have tens (in some cases hundreds) of millions of pounds sitting in the bank doing f**k-all except earn interest and increase their fortunes.

There have been a few exceptions such a Sinatra who in spite of his reputation of being quick tempered and intolerant of the press nonetheless had a heart as big the planet when came to childrens charities. A year or two after his death it was revealed that out of lifetime earnings exceeding almost 1.5 billion dollars he gave away most of it to childrens charities around the world including some in this country. When he gave a charity concert he paid for every last cent of the expenses so that all of the money raised from ticket sales, recording and television rights went to the charity.

As far as I'm concerned most of todays so called celebs are nothing but a load of useless, freeloading, untalented wankers.

I don't mine Kate Moss getting drugged up - she's not bad looking and if she was tripped out then I might get to shag her but Winehouse - gadzooks man I'd have to be on drugs to go with her.

"Franks sitting on the fence again"

Yeah, come on Frank, tell us how you really feel.

Lord Paul,

For the right 'consideration' I could let you have Kate's address, if that might be of future use to you?

The thing that really pi$$es me off with the ex Beatle is that in the last 8 weeks in various newspaper interviews, he has given no less than 3 different 'core reasons' as to why he became a vegetarian!

You'd have thought that the real reason for such a life-changing decision would have stuck in one's mind, right?

The one that really had me laughing was that he says that when he was a kid he went fishing and it so upset him that he became a 'veggie'

Now, he and I are roughly the same age, and when I was a kid we didn't have vegetarians!
No one even knew what a vegetarian was in those days.

So, more P*T*-sponsored bullsh!te for the newspapers to regurgitate!

Can't stand the ex Beatle. All his songs were the crap ones and his mouth is too small for his head.

Let me remind you about....."The Frog Chorous", "Ebony and Ivory"

Oh so true, I despise, and I use the word despise deliberately, the cult of celebrity media; the obsession with putting into print or broadcasting every last shopping trip, hair-cut or accidental wearing of odd socks.

I mean WTF is even slightly interesting about it?

Listen up general public, get a life of your own, who gives two flying ****s what some talentless gimp who spent 3 weeks on Big Brother ate for breakfast yesterday?

It is not news and writing about celebrities' every minor venture into public as a career, and I use the word career totally incorrectly, is something to be undoubtedly ashamed of.

Wise words Pikey. My feelings exactly.

"...I don't want any attention....I just want to be left alone to live my life...", said Heather Mills on a TV interview...AAAARRRRGGGH!

Matt, of course his mouth is too small for his head.

If you had a head like his you would need a mouth the size of the blackwall tunnel.

Come to think of it, the amount of c**p that comes out of it , it may be the blackwall tunnel.
