talking to a midland angler i was reminde of a guy who only had one arm who used to do well in opens in stafford in the eighties,i was pegged next to him once and he beat the crap out of me,he fished the long pole and had a selection of fittings to replace the missing hand ,using a hook like contraption he could ship a heavy pole back at a fair old speed.cant remember his name apart from it was a long one i guess he would 60 ish now

There's a number of similarly differently abled chaps who can show most of us a clean pair of heels in the Wey Valley Disabled Angling Association down here.   I had a brief association with one of their memebers doing the driving bit, and I have to say they are one hell of a bunch of chaps, amazing.

Though I have to go on record as saying that it most definitely isn't a good idea to attach a big umbrella to the legs of a wheelchair in a high wind when that wind is behind you and the water in front..... !   Just caught the chap in time..... !!!

Bloody good club for those of us in the Wey Valley / Surrey / West sussex, access to lots of waters, cheap associate memberships (join Godalming with no joining fee !   Then fish Marsh Farm to your hearts content.... Neil ?) and, best of all, you don't have to be disabled to join !
