Re: Expensive reels and their life span.
About 18 months ago I decided to step up from my Shimano 8000's to a set of 3 Big Pit Reels.
The Shimanos were still giving good service but I just fancied something a bit more up market to be honest.
So, about £800 later I was the proud owner of a set of 3 Diawa BR 5500's which I suppose most would call expensive.
However, in all probability I won't be buying another set of reels for Carp fishing for a good few years to come, especially as I can only get out Carp Fishing about 6 or 7 times a year these days, so the Diawas should last me a good long time.
