It does have a lot of potential mate. There are many swims on the Trent where a sizable waggler trotted down a few rod lengths out will beat the stick hands down. My old mate Jim Baxter pointed out this to me.

A straight waggler that will hold some shot will work well. Dont use shot to lock the waggler, rather use a couple of leger stops. Reel line minimum 8lbs with 6lbs Incognito hook length should see you OK on most swims.
