In some Burns Night thread, after I had offered a few pithy but lighthearted truths about how I would be eating “curried carp and barbel caught by my team of trained otters, as I usually do” and in a “The Supermarkets’ Mission Statement & Creed” about how the public [“the punter(s”)] is encouraged by the supermarkets to buy in “shedloads of stuff for / celebrate spurious events, “even 3 hours off work”, six months before they actually happen”, ending with a reworking of the Tesco advertizing slogan “Every little helps – for us, anyway” - which resulted in:
