Default marmite

love him, hate him, where do you stand?...the one and only Paul Boote!

Me, I buy into his way..I once tried to bite back and thought I would throw a put down his way...sent him an apology eventually as i started to understand.

Am i putting him up there as an angling god?

No i dont think so...i just think he's saying the right things, perhaps in a way that many will not understand in these modern instant, want and must have times.....thing is there is no denying he does not fit in on bfw, davey g is having a go but i think he just does not get out of his own hutch often enough to get view of the real angling world....does davey g ever fish, when was his last barbel?

Paul puts his name on the line day after day on forums, I think because he genuinely cares and knows the real problems... and from that he gets shot down by many.

Keep it up Paul...

Cheers
Jason

Some of Pauls stuff I actually like and he's never done me any harm but I do so wish he wouldn't keep flouncing in and out and playing the victim game.

I'm always interested in what Paul has to say...I dont always understand it straight away but that is part of the charm. Given what he's done and where he's been in angling terms I'd be daft not to.

A unique style....thought provoking, challenging, bit odd sometimes but never dull. Not sure I'd last a day fishing with him...my head would be in a right spin.

I've read his posts on fM and to be honest he's too clever for me

AS Homer Simpson once said "dumb it down for me , bit more, bit more, bit more"

I thought this was going to be a thread that might incite some serious debating, a thread along the lines of: Marmite or Bovril, which is the better bait additive...

So did I cg, but half expected someone saying they'd just discovered it as a bait additive (or hadn't, really really hadn't, heard of it being used before )

I once said that some of Lord Paul's posts were like a wordsearch puzzle, Paul Boote's are like cryptic crossword clues.

Seagull or Trawlerman, who can say ?
It's all water under a ducks bridge and there's a carrot at the end of the tunnel.

I think he's quite mad and an old fashioned true British eccentric. Quite wrong about 50% of things and quite right about the the other 50%, like most of us. Wrote a very very very good book once, a very very long time ago; unlike most of us. I'm still waiting for a sequel.

Has he died then? I thought that was Whitney?
