broomy is an unknown quantity at this point
Unhappy No idea now

Been out on my local river Tees
Saturday very high but falling
Sunday high but falling
Monday gave it a miss
Tuesday nice level but still plenty of colour
Wednesday almost at normal level and clearing
Fished using methods and in swims that at this time of year have provided results.
So far I have had two bites resulting in a nice conditioned 4lb chub (Tuesday) and a very nice 6lb Bream last night. But I want barble!!
Thats a total of (using two rods) 64 rod hours.
I have never experienced so little sucess for so much effort.
Ok you get used to barble blanks when fishing the Tees but the chub and bream normally come along to provide entertainment.
Just lost as to what to do next?

If at first you don't succeed Try Try again.

It's Fishing and not Catching, so i guess you have to take the Blanks with the Red Letter days.

Look for a slacker back water if there is one, they might be held up in there.

Despite the high conditions the Barbel have not moved very far from their spawning grounds on the Great Ouse.

If you know where they spawn on your river then perhaps try near there.

This appears to be true all over the country. Friends of mine have all struggled on the Yorkshire rivers. I of course have.....

Patience is a virtue at this time of year. We spend the close season scheming and plotting, expect to do really well in the first few days of the season and then come over all frustrated when things don't go to plan.

It will come right in the end, just carry on doing the right things in the right places.

Look on the bright side - we're all building up some good experience at floodwater fishing!
