Just logged in for the first time in ages and was genuinely surprised by the lack of replies this got! As it's one of my favourite places in the country I felt obliged to add a 2nd reply to your post!

Firstly, although pricier that most, the Wye and Usk Foundation has control of bookings on some amazing waters between Hereford & Ross... look here: The Booking Office - The Wye and Usk Foundation

Secondly, I recommend the Hereford waters as the cost is much lower and accessibility is much easier / straightforward. They all also very productive!

If you're going to be near Hereford then go and speak to Woody in Woody's Angling Centre.... there isn't a lot he doesn't know about the Wye and is always extremely helpful! Directions on his site: Woody's Angling Centre

Hope this helps and I sincerely hope you have one of those days that makes the Wye so special ;-)

Another late reply but Im sure it may be of use to someone.
Ross angling Centre do a number of day tickets. Wyelea being one of them, a good fishery anytime of the year.
Y&U obviously which has already been mentioned.

Ross town stretch can be productive and day tickets on the bank.

Good luck.
