Could be a case of selling the cheaper end gear that those who have been into fishingforsometimewill not give a second look- but if you are new to the sport or indeed new to a discipline of angling (ie never tried spinning before but fancy a go at it) then they can be a good, cheap way to get a taste with out spending a fortune.
The best way would be to ask an expericened angler tolook over the tackle but tell them to bear in mind the price and ask "Is it good value for the money".
If a youngster wants to take up fishing there's no point their parent going out and spending £100s on gear and then the kid packs in after a few time.
Better to spend £60 on a rod andsreel and some line and floats, £10 on a landing net and handle - then if the kid doesn't like fishing you've not lost too much and if thekid gets into itbig time then there is plenty of tiem to upgrade.
Best advice is to go to a tackle shop and ask for advice and tell them your budget, yes there is the chance that the shop will look to empty your wallet but stick to your budget and try elsewhere.
Hope this helps
