I have always thrown them away (and suffered deep bouts of depression because of the cost) but I have switch to Preston waggler adapters, brilliant bit of kit and basically totally completely 110% 24/7 5 days a week reusable....
It wouldn't be rocket science to use a plastic "stick" and a bit of silicone tubing to give a reusable ledger stop. The ones I have bought in the past have been hard a hard plastic core and cover and I found they damaged the line.legering to provide a "giveable" stop rather than a line-breaker
I never re-use these at all... These stops are just penny items and I'd be kicking myself if I ever lost a fish due to weakened line having re-used the float stops . . . . . . . . . .
Bang on - back to Plan A - toothpick ends and float rubbers - when I've used up all these float stops!Originally posted by Sagalout

Hi Peter,
Take your point - but at £1 for 15 stops - when do they stop being 'penny items'?
I agree with Peter, ya bunch of tightwads.Erm, see post #10 above . . . .
Seriously though, I really never use the same lenght of line that has had anything attached to it, and I only ever bother recovering the larger shot sizes, so things like float stops I think are best discarded after use.
I am the same with my pole rigs and discard them after use and never re-use one at all preferring to break it down to its constituent components and will only re-use the floats and the olivettes, I even discard the float rubbers and use new silicon tubing for the next rig.
A bit OCD, possibly, but then it is my old background of match fishing where every lost fish is a lost opportunity . . . . . . .

Use gumtree and save the charges!Spose I could always fleeBay them!
I will re-use float stops that have been used on light line, but only on much heavier line second time around. Usually this is on a maggot helicopter rig for light specialist tactics or heavy float fishing for the larger species. To get them back on a loop, I use an ultra fine boilie needle. Once they've been rethreaded and used on thicker mono, they aren't any further use.
I cant believe this thread ,next you,ll be wanting to re-use a dust shot
Are you saying you don't?I cant believe this thread ,next you,ll be wanting to re-use a dust shot
