OK Chub, I expect to hear reports about a lone bugler on the Trent scaring the badgers to death.
Failing that, you'll need to outfish everyone and impart loads of helpful advice, whilst still being seen as a smashing bloke.
As myself and Brummie do at every occasion.

making my egg sandwiches now mate......
as for imparting knowledge.........it comes second nature........except what baits and rigs i use, and line strength and hook size.....

Do you reckon I can pull a double out?
a four pack of ale next Sat says I can.....
mind without Brummy to look after may get a couple......
its nice showing people like Paul how to catch on the river, but sometime you just want to catch fish and enjoy it rather than keep untangling his rigs and putting his bait on etc........nice bloke tho

luck.....?
put about 30 baitdroppers of hemp/casster a third out , left it 15 mins, first cast rod over barbel about 5lb.......good start, then a chub ......then eels...and eels.....and eels. windy, (not Rik sort) started drizzling and with the thought of a two hour drive home that was it for me.
Nice bit of river though, looks a good prospect in daylight.

To Kieth, Keith, Dave and John, thanks for coming. 7 fish caught as far as I can report. I caught 4 of them, my best 61/2 lbs.

I also lost one that went like the clappers into Keith Miller's Swim.

Pleasure to meet you Ron, and to share some of your wealth of knowledge. Thanks for the introduction to that stretch of the Trent, will make it back there sometime as closer to home than Severn or Teme. Been busy with the arc welder fixing the brolly for next weekend!

I shall not forget that brolly of yours Keith. It kept me from getting a drenching.

All good memories, look foward to seeing you again
