I hadnt been fishing for some time. I was rather grumpy, and I believe the two are not unrelated, definately when its sunny. But I couldnt find the time, resulting in ever increasing stress levels. So it was with some surprise and a degree of relief when fishing buddy Brutus turned up with my gear in his car with strict orders to take me down to west pines and relieve a bit of tension. Result !

I still had about half a pint of maggots burning a hole in my baitbox from the weekend so it was off to a near empty (well was once we'd set up) mixed pond at KJS for the last 3 or so hours of daylight. Despite a stiffening easterly I stuck with the waggler cast parralell-ish to the island on this small pond - brutus fished the pole using his magical slop groudbait and maggots for hookbait.

My casting had improved but the wind an insert waggler a bit too light didnt help. But with...

Sunday 7th March saw my first trip out since the summer due to combinations of work and weather. It was carefully planned. It would KJS fisheries, the mixed course lake and I'd be there by midday (work again) but it would still give me maybe 6 hours of daylight. Game on.
