Improve Your Coarse Fishing - the country's top selling fishing mag - has a new look.

Punchy new layout, snappy pic/graphics, more beginner and carp-oriented content.

What do people think of it..?

It depends where your coming from. If your an improver angler, not long past the chuck and chance it stage then IYCF is the best magazine for you. If your the straw hat brigade and want to know how to fry gudgeon then you need waterlog. If you want somethin g to make you think a bit mre then you want Coarse fishermen. if you want a photo album of catch shots with a list of the baits and rigs you caught it on then Carp talk and the new one caorse Angling today will be up your street. Me, i'd sooner look at this web site because its free, and because itrs better than all them mags put together.

I think the main plus in favour of IYCF is that it does encourage newcomers to try for different species.Their badge scheme is an excellent way of encouraging people away from just Carp.

I have been fishing for well over forty years and I can still pick up IYCF and enjoy reading it.
I agree that most of it is for beginners but there is a good balance between readable articles and information for beginners. Show me an angler who thinks he knows everything and I'll show you a poor angler. Even if I think that I know all about a particular subject I still read it as there might be a tiny detail that I missed and which could make a difference the next time. A lot of the other magazines seem too full of adverts and not enough pages.
I especially like the new tackle and Tackle tests sections.

Chris i read iycf a lot and enjoy what i see i do think though too much space is given to "carp".I would like to see if it could be done a section on where general anglers can suggest a fishing location for one of the experts to have a crack at to see just how they would approach a water they probably have never fished before , just a thought....keep up the good work at the mag.

From my side, after living out of UK for 27 years I found IYCF very helpful in getting my tackle and methods up to today's UK coarse angling standards.

What I did find however was that when it comes to artificials, lures and fly fishing I was years ahead of UK. That's because we did an awful lot of lure and fly fishing in SA.

My favourite UK mags are Coarse Fisherman, Angling Star, Flyfishing and Fly Tying, and, wait for it - Waterlog. It can be so funny at times
