I never go pike fishing alone ‘cos I’m soft and need help to get the hooks out! I went the other day to a well known carp lake in Norfolk; the three of us in one swim, Glen, Micky and myself; dead-baiting with mackerel and sardines. It was a pleasant day, if a bit cool. A wet overnighter

Got down for the first time in a couple of weeks, the forecast was dry and mild, it turned out windy, wet and cold by morning!

I fished a part of the lake I haven't fished before, but it's got the deeper water. As it was properly dark by the time I got there, I settled for a big PVA bag of maggots in the margins, 1 a couple of metres short of an island, and with the other rod I cast around until I could find a hard area, over which I fished a snowman over a scattering of baits. Next Years Fishing 2010

Hello everyone,

I have been thinking about what i would let to get out of my fishing next year (2010).

I have given this great consideration and i have tried to keep it relatively simple as well.

I mainly only target still waters, the last few Fishing Clubs that i have joined have been cheap and cheerful, the fishing hasn't been great, in fact i can honestly say that some of it has deen dire.
I am looking at joining Bay Malton for the 2010 season,...

Free At Last & Clattercote

The reference to being 'free at last' is all about having finally moved into my refurbished apartment in Paris. After spending every week night since June 6th in hotels I finally got to move in last night to the new apartment.

Anyone who has ever read "A Year In Provence" by Peter Mayle and didn't believe the stories surrounding the infamous French word; 'demain' (translates to Tomorrow) should come and talk to me.
When a French tradesman says he will be here 'demain'...
