Graham's retirement do has made me think (probably due to too much alcohol) and I've realised that I'm becoming obsessed with barbel which is not a healthy state of affairs. During the session at Boundary I had a decent bream of...

Too Darn Hot

Posted 27-06-2010 at 12:24 by Skoda

Last Wednesday, the day England stumbled into the last sixteen of the World Cup, I returned to the small lake where I have vowed to catch a double figure carp. Whilst driving there I listened to the match on the Radio, England scored, which I considered a good omen.

It was a hot, still afternoon. The lake was covered in a dusty film; there was one other angler who I decided not to disturb. For the first time this year I was focussed on fishing. I tackled up my one rod, a 1½lb TC Fox...

Having moved from Scotland to England when i was around 12 years old it took me a little time to adjust to my surroundings when it came to certain differences in lifestyles.

I’m not a great commercial fishery man but when all you’ve got is a snatched afternoon…

Glen and I arrived at the small lake about 2.30...

Doggy Style on Fathers Day

Posted 20-06-2010 at 09:51 by Frothey

4.10am and the alarms gone off - got to pick Dad up for a trip to a rock mark. We get to the spot just as the sun pop's it's head over the Moors.

One rod out each on peeler, and 5 mins and a typical dogfish bite gives the first fish of the day.

I forgot to do my hair before we left.........
