A record of my angling exploits
Chalkstream fly fishing is for Toffs only
That was my view before I actually had a go - sure there are a few about on the expensive stretches (Test and Itchen etc) but there are still opportunities for the average Joe.
Here are some suggestions for some relatively low cost chalkstream fly fishing venues:
Amesbury - Free stretch of the River Avon at the Lords Walk(£0)
Amesbury - SADAC stretch of River Avon at Lords Walk (£10)
Durrington - Upper River Avon £5
Salisbury Town Waters - Rivers Avon and Nadder (£10)
Downton - River Avon at Charford (£10) (not really chalkstream and best with wet flies)
Salisbury - London Anglers stretch (£10)
Dorchester - River Frome (£30) (not cheap but worth it now and again)
