Cork ball will stay up forever and a day.

The more standard pop-ups it depends upon the brand. I've had Quest and Solar, I think, not staying popped up overnight if pierced. I actually trialled the Quest ones in a jug of water where stayed popped up for days, cast them into a lake and it was different.

Most probably but depth, pop-up size and weather they've been glugged will all effect bouyancy.

I'd just check when you reel in to go home they are still popped up, if not then try tying them on next time.

Depth is the key variable.

Deeper than 4 or 5 feet and the pressure increases dramatically each foot deeper. Increased water pressure means the water will 'push' intto the bait much much quicker, bait takes on water and becomes saturated then sinks !!
