Cant add much to the above on the technique for winding on.

As to line Drennan Floatfish every time.

Never put too much line on a pin. I only use around 35yds max. Also because you dont get extra spools with a pin load it with some line of reasonable strength and make your float rigs to suit ie either light or heavy at the business end

Max strength on my pins is 4lb but for barbel you would bulk up.I always have my line off the top as most Nothern anglers do but purist say from the bottom because your spool spins in a clockwise direction. Does not work for me but you pays your money you takes your choice.Good Luck

thanks for all that it is very helpful just one more question what knot should i use on the spool is the arbor knot the best
