Here are the Coarse Fish that i have never caught .....

Barbel
Pike
Zander
Dace
Rudd
Silver Bream
Grayling
Bleak
Cat Fish
Eel

Now i wouldn't mind rectifying all of them in time, but i am in no hurry to do it <if you know what i mean>

What fish haven't you caught yet ?

Sorry to those lucky enough or fortunate enough to have caught all the coarse fish already, but perhaps you could contribute by how you would go about ttargetting a certain species and what bait or tactics you would apply.

For barbel, dace, bleak and zander the Tidal Trent.

For rudd, lots of drains in Cambridgeshire are stuffed with little ones.

Silver Bream, an extremely rare species, a little lake near Rotherham has them, but I'm sworn to secrecy.

Grayling, go trot a maggot and stick float on the upper Derbyshire Derwent.

Eel, Fenland drains without a doubt.

Pike, d/o

Catfish, Go to the Ebro in Spain.

I have caught a Pumpkinseed, but not in the UK.

Like Ron, I have not caught a Twaite shad although I did fish the Wye. Paul Williams I think has caught them and did an article for FM I seem to recall.

Silver bream are more widespread than most think; I've caught them from the Thames around Oxford, the Oxford Canal, Nene, Witham, Trent, Bristol Avon and some stillwaters. I know that they're in the Coventry canal so may also be in the Trent and Mersey canal. Rudd are widely distributed in small pools including commercials, often found by fishing shallow near reedbeds. Dace are common in most streamy rivers and smaller stream - like the Dane?

A great two - three weeks fishing for Shad on the Wye...Old favorite was Eign Railway bridge. Used to love fishing for them on the fly.... spinning on light tackle is also good fun
