hi there does anyone know of any waters where there a good head of big perch 2lb upwards, in the south east. Im thinking of trying old bury hill. am i mad?

You'll be lucky if anyone tells you a location on the forum mate.

If someone posted that location 'X' contains 2lb perch then the circus would come to town and location 'X' would be rammed with numpties for months.

Personally I don't know the area you're talking about but if it looks perchy then crack out the lobs and give it a go.

thames has 4lb perch in it highger up round oxford, never fished it that low down though.

i have a feeling that trings got some in as well, but mr nellist would be better qualified to comment on that. I think he's caught em.

There are loads of good perch at two of the Tring Reservoirs: Startops and Wilstone.

Both produce plenty of 2lb+ fish and the biggest i've heard of this year from Wisltone is 4-11.

At this time of year the area around the car park at Wilstone is worth a try as long as the weather is mild.

Fish Maggot feeder with red maggot and keep casting every 10 minutes.

i've only seen it go mad once with perch rumours paul and that was the 6-2, the circus did turn up then

you sould try a lake run by crawley angling called new pond used to fish it with my 2 boys a few years ago lots of big perch tight in against the dam wall good as gold
