However, the place was festooned with people hauling 5lb Carp out on gear that could stop a train. Some of the Carp I caught on the float had beaks not mouths !. Everyone of them had alarms set at Ear Splitting Volume and they all seem intent on informing everyone around the lake of everything they are doing.
At one point one of these idiots cast across the lake (across at least 6 swims ) and right into mine. I said 'do you want to sit on my lap and fish my swim?' he said 'You can f*** off I'll f***** cast where I like mate' I was here first' at which point I got up and walked towards where he was sitting, not to be aggressive but to perhaps make him understand At this point he got very humble and reeled in, sadly his young son floatfishing next to him was witness to this oafishness'. During the day his son caught a small Perch and I heard his dad say 'just rip the F****** 'ook out and kick it back'
We were last out of the gates and as I walked past his swim there were 4 beer cans (he was driving) on the floor a fag packet a luncheon meat tin cut up very ragged and two coke bottles
I bagged it with a sigh and once at the car park found 4 bags of rubbish people had left for the owner to remove, one of them was a clear plastic bag with hair rig packets, boilie bag (which are banned there) and some Stella bottles.
My main concerns are :
Owners seem too content to pick up money and not police the waters they own
so many rules on tickets but none of them checked, no rod licence checks at all either.
If owners of such waters value their fish, why do they not check rigs or seek to eliminate bad angling practice ?
As we left my mate said to me 'I dont think I'll ever come back here'
Or am I just a moaning minnie ?

I have seen all this sort of behaviour and worse including
people blatantly fishing banned baits
fishing 2 rods and putting one down when the ballif comes round
Lifting a five pound carp in the air without using a net ie suspending it from the hook in its mouth
Fishing without a net and shouting "net net" when they catch a fish.
On one pool I fish I toyed with telling the owner that his baliffs were allowing banned baits ( seen it myself , and checked with another baliff that the bait was banned ) but I can't bring myself to grass him up.
Some of it is education , maybe some of these people are learning , that was certainly the case with me.
I have stopped fishing a public pool by me because the behaviour is much much worse there.
Its not always that bad I have had some very pleasent days chatting idly to the guy next to me and of course if you go in the week , which is what I tend to do now , you don't see so much of this behaviour.
So totally agree with your post its not what fishing is about for me I usually go to try and relax.
