Default Expander pellet problems

Ok people where am I going wrong? My expander float

I've tried different brands and still having problems
I put the pellets in a pellet pump and pump until the pellets sink when you release the vacuum but still they float when I throw them in the lake.

I've even kept them in water after the pellet pump and still they float - only was I can make them sink it to squeeze them

What the secret?

I don't know if this helps Paul but I always pump them up, release the air immediately, them pump them up again and leave them until they reach the required texture (I prefer mine quite soggy). This always works for me, by the way I generally use GOT pellets.

Are you putting to many pellets in to start with

When you pump them and then release the air, you should visibly be able to see them sink in the water they are already in. As you have mentioned already, leave them to soak in the water after for a little while.

It could just be that you are not pumping them enough.

It should work Paul if you leave them long enough. Many years ago, before I got a pellet pump, I used to put the expanders in a bowl and pour boiling water over them - leave for a few minutes and they will absorb all the water (tends to pen a bit so best done outside) then place the pellets in a freezer bag, or similar, and leave in the fridge overnight for the next day's fishing - perfect every time.

Only used them a few times and just soaked overnight, there always seem to be a few that float, the rest sink OK (could be handy if carp are feeding on the top and floating baits are banned)

I pump mine the night before or at least a couple of hours before use .Try pumping them a couple of times then put them in a plastic bag in the fridge for a couple of hours .Should find this does the trick .
