I certainly used to think the same. However, they appear to have changed the recipe at some point in time. The bloody things have a nasty tendency to sink rather quickly now. Tesco own brand are cheaper and stay bouyant for longer, still not as good as I remember old Chum mixers being though.

My vote is for Chum mixers too. Simply attached with a bait band.

I am unsure why more anglers don't just use bread? it is a carp bait supreme. surface, slow sinker or bottom bait....... very versatile and responsable for over 100lb of carp last weekend......

I make a paste out of dog biscuits. I use small biscuits and put them through a coffee grinder and then make up a paste by mixing the grounds with boiling water and a sachet of gelatine. The biscuit powder doesn't hold together too well without the gelatine. Unfortunately, floaters are out of the question in my local carp water, the duck population sees to that.

While we are on the topic of Floating Dog Biscuits .. what fishing set up do you use when using this method?

Also, what are the Pro's and Con's of Moist Dog Biscuits to Dry Biscuits that can be attached with a bait band?

Hi steph,
a 2lb test curve carp rod, a 4000 size reel (ie Shimano mini baitrunner) 8lb line straight through, a contol float and a size 8 hook (depends on the size of fish)
Please note that every body's idea is different and some may disagree with my Ideas!
(Please don't tell the carp boy's but I used an extra power float rod, ooo, arrr missus!)

i find the hair rigging dry dog biscuits as u get a better hook set on the fish
but there is a new type of dog biscuit out now that my mate has for his dog and they are massive mixers which are allready soft and still float and stink meaty as hell. i use this as a hook bait and use the normal mixers as loose feed when i find out what the brand is il post it
