I tend to not soak them, but to use a flavouring in the bag and pop them in the freezer.

I take them out well in advance of needing to use them but then typically always mount them on a Bait Band.

Ah, the forgotten carp bait, brilliant and a lot cheaper than some floating baits!

They make good pop ups if you don't leave them in for too long

Paul, I used to fish floating dog biscuits on hardwick and, although not big fish I used to catch nice carp off the top when all the carp boy's were struggling, a great bait!

Would that work with an oily flavoring ?

I tend to flash them with boiling water. Although it initially leaves them hard on the inside and soft on the outside. Once they've been left a while they go quite rubbery. They still float but you can get a hook in them directly. They also swell slightly and I'd prefer this to happen before the carp scoff them.
